Reflecting on my year, this drawing blog has ranked high on the 'What's Good' column.
Because I'm working on another drawing post, I'm channeling my pictures there. So now I must try to use my words. I have so much heartfelt gratitude for those of you who have encouraged, read, commented on, talked to me about and shared these drawings. I've loved doing the drawing but your responses and feedback really turn it into something vital.
New post -- part one of two -- coming this week.
thank you all
Eileen

I'm still in the process of reading over your older posts, but I find this blog refreshingly unique:)
Hi Eileen,
New fan (as of yesterday), first time commenter. From one visual gal to another, LOVE your blog! All the BEST for 2011! :-) H.
I've so enjoyed the drawings, being a visual person, but look forward to whatever you choose to share this year. Best of luck in your ventures!
Thanks for the notes Sarah-Ann, Labyrinth Gal and Cath!! I posted this note on a swell of gratitude, gym endorphins and coffee. Had I added some FOOD to this blissed-out cocktail I could have crafted a clearer post - like: 'I'm so grateful to viewers, commenters, and other encouragers, cause this was sorta scary at first. Y'all are making me feel like less of a freak. I have a few ideas on how I want to continue to share drawings this year, but I'm also trying to adhere to an 'underpromise, over deliver' policy.'
Thanks again for taking the time to drop a kind note!
Eileen
Hello Eileen!
I found your blog because of Brene Brown over on Twitter. The yoga post is hysterical. I'm talking bust a gut funny. The whole bit about smell checking killed me. Who'd a thunk all those elegant yogaistes could smell like grizzly bears?!
Your blog struck a chord with me too because I just got through reading Hugh MacLeod's Ignore Everybody and I was reminded of the incredible power of a 'simple' cartoon. I feel the same way about your drawings. They cut right to the chase which is very refreshing.
I also wanted to say that your name is an instant classic. I became a fan having only read the name. The rest of your content just sealed the deal. Keep up the good work!

Happy New Year!
Thank YOU for giving me countless opportunities to sputter coffee all over my laptop in helpless mirth.
David,
Thanks for the sweet words. I had to double check the author to see if my mom wrote it, it was so complimentary.
I enjoyed your blog. And for the record, I think Kanye is a genius AND a douche. It's okay; at least he's writing a check that his butt can cash.
Christine,
thanks for being such a faithful and supportive reader! Excited about 2011, sister!
Eileen,
I've been called a lot of things. Your mother, however, is not one of them.
As for compliments, yeah I'm not stingy. If something I see genuinely deserves a compliment, then it also deserves 3, or 46 compliments.
And as far as 'Ye' goes, did you mean douche in the European or American sense? :)
David
